My heart is overflowing with thankfulness as I watch my friend become a mother. She’s yearned for this for so long. And I know how fleeting these moments are… her sweet soft skin, her tiny fingers holding on, the hours spent snuggled close. Seeing the two of them together like this took my breath away…
We felt so honored when the Cluneys asked us to photograph them and document this beautiful part of their journey as they wait for their sweet baby to arrive.

There are so many things I have to give thanks for…
his soft sweet hand holding onto me, their dreams coming true on a canoe ride with their dad, a canoe just waiting to be played in, cousins snuggled together in a hammock, little boys becoming super heroes in the tall grasses, finally learning to fish, a summer evening at the lake with cousins, roasting marshmellows with family, our young family together, the joys of watching chickens, secret notes from my boys, boys throwing rocks together, her ninth birthday, crawling on the grass, the gift of a ukelele, red maryjanes, shadow plays on the wall, an orchard full of apples, making chalk paintings together, my sweet baby snuggled in my arms asleep, the way those brothers can play together, him loving me, riding through puddles, fairy wings, him noticing snow for the first time, cars stacked and ready to race, building snowmen… so many beautiful gifts.

These pictures have me thinking about someday. About someday when these two have children and those children grow old. Thinking about those children looking back on these pictures and seeing how happy their hearts were together…

Sara and Clay fell in love. They decided to vow their lives to each other. Beautiful and amazing. I wish you could have heard the way Sara whooped and hollered on their wedding day.
